Weekend Non Gym Session 05/09/2009 to 07/09/2009

I was going to have a long weekend this week (ie. 3 days weekend, thanks to a public holiday on Monday). I woke up yet again at 9 am on Saturday morning dated 05/09/2009 and I walked my dog around the park for 4 rounds this time around.

Here are the stats for that walk:

Saturday, 05/09/2009, Light cardio session
30 mins walking Little Foot around the part for 4 times
* Resulted in 160 calories burned and about 2.4km walked(estimated)

I did that again before dinner on Monday dated 07/09/2009 as I did not need to work today. This time I walked him around the park for as much as 7 rounds.

Again, here are the stats for that walk:

Monday, 07/09/2009, Medium cardio session
45 mins walking Little Foot around the part for 7 times
* Resulted in 300 calories burned and about 3.2km walked(estimated)

In addition, over the weekend I made the following purchases for myself.

1. Sanwa buttons from Jaylike7 (RM84.60)
a. Close shot of the buttons
White sanwa buttons

b. Full shot of the modded Hori Real Arcade Pro 3

Recently, I spent quite a lot of money not only getting a new PC but also on various original games procured for my enjoyment. However, due to the hectic working hours and my gym sessions, I was only able to play them during the weekend.

I will post some screenshots for each of the games once I am more or less done with it. Here are some photos of the games that I have recently purchased:

1. Empire Total War Special Forces Edition
Empire Total War
* Purchased from Crestfallen in LowYat Forums for RM200

2. Company of Heroes Gold Edition

I am unlikely to spend money on any other things at the moment due to the current economic circumstances. I have done my part in helping the economy by spend almost more than RM7,000 early this year.

Sunday, 29/03/2009
30 mins walking Little Foot around the part for 3 times
* Resulted in 150 calories burned and about 2.4km walked(estimated)

I have completed this game Left 4 Dead quite awhile ago . This game was significantly different from normal batch of first person shooter as this game is meant for Co-op with others. Since I am always busy, I played the game with bots which is quite enjoyable as well.

The setting of the game is zombies akin Resident evil. The graphic engine used for this game was the Source Engine (the one they used for Half Life 2). Unfortunately, the graphics looks a bit dated.

Here are some screen shots captured while playing through it:

1. Main title screen
Left 4 Dead initial loading screen

2. Start menu
Left 4 Dead Start Menu

3. Dead air loading screen
Dead Air loading screen

4. A tunnel, everybody can't wait to go through that in a horror movie
A tunnel, let's go through that one

5. Getting ready for the next fight, ie. just starting in one of the missions
Getting ready for our next fight

6. Healing another team mate
Healing teammate
*This has to be done frequently as it is unlikely not to get hurt during the zombies rushes or boss fights....

7. We are in the tunnel, scary huh?
Inside the tunnel

8. Finally, a huge chain gun to mow down those pesky zombies
Mounting the chaingun

9. Time to give it to them hard, die, zombies die!
Firing the chain gun

10. Everybody reloading before the next fight
Everybody reloading before the next fight
* Always get ready before the next fight, those zombies rush are no joking matter.

11. Reading is important. Hencem the book stand in Left 4 Dead.....

12. The plane looks like it's gonna crash anytime soon
This plane is definitely crashing

13. Inside the green house, nice garden even with the crazy zombies
Inside the green house

14. Killing zombies in the office
In the office
* Looks like the working class people are never spared.

15. Underneath the highway
Underneath the high way
* Looks like another tunnel to me though.

16. In the airport
In the airport
* Check out Resident Evil's recent movie, it has the exact same setting as this.

My take on Left 4 Dead, a great game in terms of singleplayer and should be even more fun with multiplayer. Hence, I give it a rating of 8.8/10 score.

Pros:
1. Good atmosphere, great graphics.
2. Intuitive controls.
3. Play great on low end PC.
4. Easy to get into and doesn't take too long to finish a campaign or mission.

Cons:
1. Looks dated
2. A bit on the short side
3. Need to find people to play with.

Work Day Non Gym Sessions 15/10/2008 to 17/10/2008

Work Day Non Gym Sessions 15/10/2008 to 17/10/2008
This week was pretty bad because I was not able to do two gym sessions during the week days. Also, I am quite lazy to hit the gym on the weekend. Whilst not being able to hit the gym was definitely a bad thing, I was still glad that I did the light cardiovascular sessions walking to the office on a daily basis.

The statistics for the walks are as follows:

Wednesday
, 15/10/2008 Light cardio session
15 mins walked from carpark to office with 2kg worth of stuff
* Resulted in 150 calories burned (estimated)

Thursday, 16/10/2008 Light cardio session
15 mins walked from carpark to office with 2kg worth of stuff
* Resulted in 150 calories burned (estimated)

Friday, 17/10/2008 Light cardio session
15 mins walked from carpark to office with 2kg worth of stuff
* Resulted in 150 calories burned (estimated)

I did the walks to the office only as my dad picked me up after work. This is because lately, I had to stay back at work till quite late these days. I had a choice between going to gym after work on Friday or having the most expensive steak ever. It would be a better choice to hit the gym but the expensive steak was too much to resist.

My dad was gonna treat me this since quite awhile ago (Mainly thanks to my advise on some investments, I guess....) It was about 7:30 pm, we head to the Jake's Charbroil Steaks Restaurant straight after work.

Some information with regards to the Wagyu:

"Wagyu (和牛 wagyū) refers to several breeds of cattle genetically predisposed to intense marbling and to producing a high percentage of oleaginous unsaturated fat. The meat from wagyu cattle is known worldwide for its marbling characteristics, increased eating quality through a naturally enhanced flavor, tenderness and juiciness, and thus a high market value. Several areas in Japan are famous for the quality of their Wagyu cattle, and ship beef bearing their areas' names. Some examples are Kobe, Mishima and Ohmi beef.

The wagyu cattle's genetic predisposition yields a beef that contains a higher percentage of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids than typical beef. The increased marbling also improves the ratio of monounsaturated fats to saturated fats."

I thought it was just a normal steak that I had so many times not long ago. Boy, was I wrong....I ordered the Wagyu Super Size King (SSK) steak (ie. 600 grams of meat). Due to the fact that I have lent my digital camera to my sister for her Hong Kong holiday trip, my only choice were to extract the photos from some other website.

A photo of the Wagyu Steak

(This was extracted from some website as well)

Total cost incurred for that meal = RM278 (SSK Wagyu Steak)+ RM10 (Watermelon juice) + RM43.20 = RM 331.20

The taste of the steak was heavenly, it almost any other meat I have tasted in my life. The total cost of the steak was RM278 before taxes. Ouch! Thank goodness I was not paying for that.

However, one must always try once in a lifetime without regrets.....I won't hesitate to have another serving of this one day when I make it big.......hahha
