Weekend Non Gym Session 25/10/2009

Weekend Non Gym Session 25/10/2009

I woke up really late today around 9 am. I was looking forward to bring Little Foot for a walk. The weather was pleasant around 9:30 am. As such, walking Little Foot was very relaxing indeed.

Here are the stats of the walk:

Sunday, 25/10/2009, Light cardio session
25 mins walking Little Foot around the part for 4 times
* Resulted in 150 calories burned and about 2.4km walked(estimated)

I have recently completed Red Faction Guerrilla ("Red Faction") on the PC, here is a short review of the game. The game length was quite short as there were around three to five main story missions in each territory. There were a lot of side missions that I didn't bother to do as it seems to be very repetitive.

Unfortunately, Red Faction felt like a console game and was quite badly optimized. There were instances where my powerful PC was brought to its knees. Without further ado, here are some screenshots for viewing pleasure:

*Please note that I use the usual keyboard and mouse combo instead of my gamepad. This made the game a lot easier when in combat situations.

Pros:
1. Destructible buildings everywhere, blowing up stuff is fun.
2. Decent graphics
3. Good sound effects

Cons:
1. Vehicle handling feels unnatural
2. Missions are very repetitive (including side quests)
3. Terribly optimized, brought my powerful PC down to its knees at times.
4. In game map could be better
5. Feels exactly like a console game.

My verdict for this game is 6.5 out of 10. I will only recommend people who really enjoyed the first Red Faction. Fortunately, it is currently 50% off on Stardock's Impulse Driven, grab it while you can.
