Weekend Non Gym Session 10/04/2010

Weekend Non Gym Session 10/04/2010

I had to work today in the office and had no time to bring Little Foot for a walk in the morning. After I came back from work, I decided I had to walk him around the park irregardless. I still could feel accumulated acid lactic on Friday's full cardiovascular session.

I was able to walk him more than I expected. Here are the stats of the walk:

Saturday, 10/04/2010, light cardio session
45 mins walking Little Foot around the park for 6 times
* Resulted in 200 calories burned and about 3km walked(estimated)

Also, I have recently completed Warhammer 40k Dawn Of War 2 and its expansion, Warhammer 40k Dawn Of War 2: Chaos Rising which I purchased quite awhile ago . Here is a short review of the game. The game length was quite short for both of them ie. around 20 hours.

Here are some screenshots of the game:

5. Tyranids, really hate them when they swarm my team.

6. My team of space marines, scouts and assault marines

16. I am supposed to destroy that, lest I forget my real mission

17. This snowy planet belongs to Chaos

* This was pretty obvious since this planet appear out of the warp not long after the tyranid's invasion

18. Guess who I found, a librarian who is weaker than my force commander

19. Got to hand it to those cults, they always try to conjure some demons

20. Damn, my worst enemy is a fatty demon?

21. Finally, I get to be a heavily armored predator tank
Photobucket
* Except I gotta kill a lot of Chaos cultist and space marines just great.

22. I thought Eliphas would have gotten a bigger role to play

23. Against overwhelming odds, I won finally
Photobucket
* Unfortunately this was not the best ending. What can I say, I was tempted by Chaos just like in real life.

I completed the both the game and its expansion within 3-4 days. Since this is a Real Time Strategy ("RTS") game which actually played more like Diablo with a squad, I have used my usual keyboard and mouse combo to play this.

Pros:
1. Very engaging story, well written from the beginning to the end.
2. Awesome graphics, great sound effects and excellent voice over.
3. There is quite a bit of replayability in this game since you would want to achieve different endings
4. The game length fairly short around 25 hours for both the game and its expansion

Cons:
1. You only get to play Space Marines for story
2. Quite buggy, a lot of crashes every now and then for the expansion.

My verdict for this game is 8.0 out of 10. I definitely would recommend anybody who is a fan of the first Dawn of War. This is an excellent follow up to the first Dawn of War. Significantly different coupled with better graphics and better sound effects than the first. While it is not what everything one could hope for in a sequel, it was a decent follow-up to the first Dawn Of War.
